May Updates: New Personalization Features in Customily

May is here, and we’re bringing sunshine ☀️ to your Customily experience. This month’s updates focus on making personalization smoother, sharper, and even more fun for both you and your customers.

🖨️ Autofilled Print File Values: 🔢 Order Number & 🗂️ File Name

You can automatically insert dynamic text into the print file—such as the Order Number  or File Name —to include that information in the print file.

📦 This helps give each print file a clear identity, making it easier to organize and track during the fulfillment process.

🛠️ How to Set Up Autofilled Values in Your Print File

Add a Text Element, then go to the Advanced section:

1. ✅ Check the "Autofilled" checkbox.
2. From the dropdown below, choose the value you want to insert:

• 🔢 Order Number
• 🗂️ File Name

✏️ You can also set a Prefix (e.g., Order:) or Suffix to include additional text before or after the autofilled value.

🌙 New: Moon Phase Design Element

🚀 Customily just landed on the moon! 🌕 Bringing personalized designs to new heights — literally.

You can now add a Moon Phase design element to your products! It comes with a default set of classic moon images, or you can upload your own using a custom image library.

How it works:

• Add the Moon Phase element to your design.
• Use the default moon images — or customize it by uploading your own in an Image Library.
• 🟡 Golden rule for custom images: upload 8 images, in order from position 1 to 8, following the standard moon phase sequence. See below for reference.
• 📅 Each unique Moon Phase element (with a different ID) will automatically include a Date Picker in the option set.

We’ve just given the design element handles a fresh new look — now more aligned with UI standards ✨

They’re now clearly visible on both light and dark backgrounds 🌞🌚 —by default on desktop, and on mobile if the corresponding store setting is enabled 💻📱

🔧 Adjustable Text Bounding Box 🔤📦

You now have more control over how customers personalize text on your products!

Instead of letting text move freely across the entire canvas, in your Templates you can define a specific area where the custom text can be adjusted 🎨🖱️.

✨ How it works:

• 📏 Set a bounding box – Define the exact area on the canvas where the text can be moved and resized.
• 🎯 Control initial position and size – Choose where the text starts and how big it is by default.
• 🚫 Prevent undesired personalization – Make sure text stays within the intended design area, avoiding overlaps or awkward placements.
• 🧩 Improve design consistency – Keep the final product looking just the way you intended.
• 🛠️ More polished experiences – Let customers personalize freely within limits that protect your layout.

Mask Images with Custom Text 🖼️🎭🔤

We’re excited to introduce Text as Mask! This feature allows you to set up custom text as a mask, so the image layer beneath it takes the shape of the text. It’s perfect for creating stunning, personalized designs where the text itself becomes a unique canvas for your image.

🔧 How it works:

• Set up your custom text as 'Use as Mask' in the Advanced props.
• The image layer beneath the text is masked to fit within the text outline, creating a seamless, one-of-a-kind design!
• It works for both Dynamic Images and Image Uploads.

• 🎁 Personalized gifts with images inside names, dates, or quotes.
• 👕 Standout designs for apparel, mugs, and home decor.
