October Updates: New Personalization Features in Customily

Spooky season is upon us 🎃 and our October updates are all treats, no tricks! This month we rolled out powerful personalization tools and helpful improvements to help you maximize your Q4 sales. And when we say powerful, we really mean it.

Display Dates Your Way: Date Format Update 📅✨

You can now set the output date format directly in your Templates or Designs 📅✨

A variety of common formats are available, so you can show dates exactly the way you want in the customization.

How it works

• Under Advanced properties, select a Date Format in your Text design element ✏️
• In the Options Set, use a Date Picker with a Text function to feed that element 🔗
• The date will display in your chosen format in both Preview and Print File ✅🖨️

Customily × Canva 🧩🎨

We’re excited to share that Canva Integration is now available for everyone in Customily! 🙌

This integration lets merchants connect their Canva account and import designs directly into the Design Studio, no extra steps required.

✨ It allows you to:

• 🖼️ Automatically resize the Design Studio canvas to match the imported Canva page.
• 🎨 Import Canva design layers and map them to your existing design elements in Customily.

It works just like the Import Layers feature: simply choose which Canva layers you want to bring in, assign them to your target elements, and your customizable product is ready to go.

💡 Tip: If you want the fonts to match your imported design, make sure those fonts are already uploaded to your Customily Account.

Whenever you want to disconnect you Canva account you can do it under Account > Integrations.

🪄 New: Generate Mockups with AI (Powered by Nano Banana 🍌)

Bring your products to life in seconds ✨

You can now generate AI mockups for your products directly inside Customily! Show your designs in real-life settings, from cozy homes to trendy studios, without spending hours on photo shoots.

How it works:

1. Open up your product on the Customily app
2. Click “Generate Mockups”
3. Choose a scene, or simply describe the desired outcome with the prompt box
4. Click on Generate and watch our AI create beautiful, ready-to-use images for your store.

Perfect for updating product photos for different seasonals, or simply streamlining your product creating process, all in just a few clicks.

Your generated mockups currently sync directly to your Shopify product images.

We’ll be expanding support to all platforms soon, and yes, you’ll be able to download your mockups in future updates!

New: Image Effects for Image Placeholders ✨

We’ve just added Image Effects to your Image Placeholder elements! Now, when you’re editing a image placholders, you’ll see a brand-new Image Effects section. Here, you can:

🎨 Add style presets to instantly give your shoppers pictures a unique look

🪄 Use AI tools like background removal, face cutouts, or custom prompts from multiple providers

🔁 Stack multiple effects and control the exact order they’re applied in

🤖 Choose from your favorite providers:

• OpenAI, OpenRouter, Gemini (Nano Banana 🍌) - requires API keys
• Customily (free to use!)

This means your shoppers image uploads can now be enhanced, stylized, and AI-powered, all set up directly on Customily.

New Text Condition: “Has Exactly” X Characters ✨

We’ve added the new Text Condition "has exactly" that lets you check if an input has exactly a certain number of characters.

This is useful for scenarios such as:

• 🔀 Switching layout visibility based on character count.
• 💲 Charging depending on the number of characters.
• ➕ Other advanced personalization rules.
